This May, Loewe debuts a special capsule collection with Paula’s Ibiza, the iconic fashion boutique and celebrity-sanctified destination in the Spanish city’s old town. Founded by Armin Heinemman in 1972, the humble bohemian retailer quickly became a hub for artists, musicians, and eccentrics alike, and is remembered today for cultivating a design sensibility that singlehandedly defined the visual aesthetic of ’80s and ’90s island culture. Conceived by Creative Director Jonathan Anderson, the new exclusive line transforms archival floral prints from the shop into one-of-a-kind skirts, blouses, and dresses. Also included in the collection are select favorites from the brand reimagined in trademark island patterns. Accompanying the release is a limited edition publication shot by photographer and Document contributor Jamie Hawkesworth, who traveled to Ibiza to shoot on location at Heinemman’s own country house. Brimming with various religious objects, sculptures, and ceramic bowls collected over years of travel, the quiet villa provides the perfect backdrop for a collection inspired by the beauty and diversity of Ibiza’s rich cultural and physical landscape.
