1. Twist

“Twist is exactly what you want a gay dive bar in Miami to be. Don’t know if it’s the go-go boys or what, but this place becomes quite the art/fashion scene during Art Basel.”

2. The Setai

“Totally decadent South Beach luxury.”

3. Lincoln Road

“When I need to feel like a Real Housewife of Miami, I go shopping on Lincoln Road. This outdoor shopping and dining area gets extra points for having a Dylan’s Candy Store on the corner.”

4. Miami Design District

“This neighborhood has all the best stores, galleries and installation pieces. My fave is Zaha Hadid’s ‘Elastika’ in the Moore building.”

5. Rubell Family Collection

“One of the best private collections of contemporary art anywhere in the world.”

6. de la Cruz Collection

“Another Miami-style private collection exhibiting to the public. This place encourages site specific installations from exhibiting artists, so there’s always something exciting to see.”

7. David Castillo Gallery

“Another one of Miami’s best galleries, housed in the Albert Anis’s Art Deco masterpiece 420 Lincoln Road.”

8. NADA Art Fair

“Art Basel can be very establishment, so when you’ve had enough of the super galleries and their mega-star artists, head over to NADA to discover the next generation.”

9. Design Miami

“One of the best design shows in the world. You’ll find incredible furniture here, but unless you have a super rich daddy it’s strictly aspirational. My fave exhibitor is Johnson Trading Gallery, whose design collaborations are always A+.”
