Document joins the designer behind iconic prairie-meets-party dresses as she prepares for Shabbat in this exclusive video.

Batsheva Hay was working as a lawyer when a trip to a dressmaker inspired her to change careers to fashion. Her vintage inspired prairie-meets-party dresses quickly obtained cult-like status in the fashion world, now sold at stockists like Matches Fashion and Net-A-Porter. Although her dresses are now worn on red carpets, Batsheva has always felt like a personal journey for Hay—she still makes sure that every sample made for the brand is something she would want to wear.

Between challah and hummus preparations, the designer reveals the secret to the perfect shabbat and who her dream dinner guests would be in an exclusive video for Document Journal.

Make-up Ayana Awata. Hair Takao Hayashi.
