Balenciaga’s Paris showing featured a vivid EU-blue runway, prosthetics, power suits to end all power suits, and a grand finale of Met Ball-baiting bulbous ball gowns—not to mention a scent profile to match. With that, Balenciaga became one of fashion month’s undeniable sensations and so much the sweeter for the legions of young fans who’ve followed the brand through out Demna Gvasalia’s tenure. Filmmaker Pablo Di Prima spoke to several of these, a few of which had taken trans-continental flights to get there, about what exactly it is about Balenciaga that’s earned their rabid enthusiasm.
