Drawing on his roots in the 00s rave scene, self-taught make up artist Thomas de Kluyver takes his inspiration from a unique and subtle mix of youth subcultures and classic beauty. He incorporates disparate references, from Japanese cosplay to Dickens’s Oliver Twist, into singular and memorable beauty moments.

For Fall 2019, he took Document backstage at Sies Marjan, Asai Takeaway, Gucci, Jil Sander, and Rokh, where de Kluyver captured six of the season’s most striking looks.
