Oscar-winning actor Eddie Redmayne stars in a new short film by Document contributor Craig McDean for Prada Uomo‘s Fall Winter/2016 campaign. The video places the collection in a fantasy world, awakening the Italian house’s seasonal imagery, which McDean debuted during Milan’s Men’s week this past June, into explorative motion. “Redmayne is no stranger to immersing himself in historically significant characters,” the brand announced of the young actor in a statement. “Here [he] assumes a number of roles: hero, villain, revolutionary.” Redmayne won an Oscar for his poignant portrayal of Stephen Hawking in “The Theory of Everything” in 2015, and was nominated earlier this year for his role as pioneering transgender artist Lili Elbe in “The Danish Girl.” Reflective of Miuccia Prada’s own passion for the cinema, the collaboration adds to the brand’s storied cast of previous ambassadors from the silver screen, including Willem Dafoe, Michael Shannon, and Ethan Hawke.
