Danish designer Anne Sofie Madsen is constantly working with dichotomies—the futuristic and historical, masculine and feminine, and the exotic and classic. Debuting her Fall/Winter 2016 collection tomorrow at Paris Fashion Week, Document gets an exclusive look at her austere, yet refined line. After studying at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts and working with masters John Galliano and Alexander McQueen, Madsen started her own label in 2011 focusing on “the way a silhouette can affect the body and the surrounding space and how materials, shapes, and proportions are able to generate a body language”. These shots, taken by friend and DJ Esben Weile Kjær, explore the intimacy of friendship and the home, which is echoed in the collection—abstract and easy, yet centered around the form and body.
